The big idea

The showcase asks students to choose a real problem, combine several AI workflows to address it, and present both the outcome and the thinking behind it — including what did not work.

Why it matters

Combining tools independently is what proves the year has produced capability rather than just familiarity.

Unpacked

What you will actually learn

Three core ideas, each taught with worked examples and then practised until it feels obvious.

01

Choose a real problem

Choosing a real problem means something the student genuinely cares about, small enough to attempt in eight sessions.

02

Combine AI workflows

Combining workflows chains tools together — research, then writing, then images, then audio or video — each feeding the next.

03

Present and reflect

Presenting and reflecting means showing the work honestly, including the dead ends and what they taught you.

Did you know?

Professional teams keep a “what we tried that failed” list precisely because it is often the most useful document in the project.

Common mix-up

“A perfect project is the goal.” A project you can explain honestly — including its flaws — demonstrates more understanding than a flawless one you cannot.

Try this at home

Keep a one-line log every session: what you tried, and what happened. It becomes your presentation almost automatically.

It is finished when

  • It works from start to finish without breaking
  • You can explain every part of it in your own words
  • You tested it and improved at least one thing afterwards
  • Someone else used or understood it without your help

By the end of this module

Students finishing Module 9 can:
