Gentle, age-appropriate yoga for children. Kids learn simple poses, stretching, balance, slow breathing and quiet relaxation — taught in a friendly, playful way, with nothing forced and nothing to bring. Mats are provided.
Adults often hold hard poses for a long time. Children do not. Poses are simpler, held for shorter periods, and changed more often to keep attention. Deep backbends, long headstands and forced flexibility are left out completely.
What children lose in intensity, they gain in actually wanting to come back.
Nothing should ever hurt. If it does, a child stops.
Brolly Juniors runs yoga classes for kids in Hyderabad for ages 5 to 15. Sessions combine age-appropriate asanas for strength and flexibility, simple pranayama, focus practice and guided relaxation. Postures are adapted for growing bodies and no child is pushed into a position they are not ready for.
Children are not small adults. Yoga for kids has to be taught differently, and there are things it should never do.
If your child has an injury, a health condition or any concern about movement, please speak to your doctor first and tell us before the session.
Six things that decide whether a child settles into yoga or gives up on it.
Playful, never strict. It should feel like fun, not a workout.
Poses children can actually manage, with names they remember.
Standing and steadying, where wobbling is allowed.
Slow and gentle. The breath is never held.
A guided quiet finish to every single session.
Stories, animal poses, games and movement.
Yoga for kids means simple body movements, stretching, balance, breathing and quiet rest. Children hold a shape for a little while, breathe slowly, then move on to the next one.
Standing, sitting and balancing shapes with easy names children remember. Gentle stretches that feel comfortable — never pushing until something hurts. Standing on one foot, wobbling, and trying again.
Slow breaths in and out, so children learn to notice their own breathing. Looking at one spot to stay steady in a balance, which is attention practice, really. Then lying still at the end, quiet and comfortable, for a few minutes.
Simple explanationHold a shape for a little while, breathe slowly, move to the next one — then lie still and quiet at the end.
The claim we do makeYoga will not fix a child’s concentration on its own, and we will not tell you it does. What children reliably take away is a specific, portable technique for calming down — one many of them use before a test or after an argument, entirely unprompted. That is a real thing, and it is enough.
Nobody winsHolding a stretch is never a competition between children, and flexibility improves gradually, in a comfortable range.

The two parts of a session children most often take home with them.
Children are never asked to hold their breath, and breathing practice is always gentle. If a child feels dizzy or uncomfortable, they stop and breathe normally. Relaxation is not presented as therapy or as treatment for anxiety or any condition. No experience is needed, nothing has to be bought, and no child is expected to be flexible on day one.
Two gentle activities to try at home. Sit comfortably, and stop any time you want to.
Breathe gently and normally. Never hold your breath. If you feel dizzy or uncomfortable at any point, stop and breathe normally.
