Quick answer

Brolly Chess is a chess learning app for children and young people aged 7 to 20. It combines interactive lessons from beginner to advanced, computer practice at five levels, chess puzzles at easy, medium and hard, and playful mini-games, with one account that keeps lessons and games in step across the website and the app. It runs in a web browser today, and an Android app is in testing on Google Play.

Android app coming soon

The Android app is in testing on Google Play. If you have been added as a tester, you can join the test from this page; everyone else can play in the browser right now. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you the day the Android app opens to everyone.

A little practice. A stronger player.

Brolly Chess takes a child from their first pawn move to a well-planned endgame, one idea at a time. Short lessons, board exercises and narration help the ideas stick — from meeting the board and getting to know the pieces, to spotting tactics and giving every move a purpose, to calculating carefully and finishing with a plan.

Between lessons there is always a game to play: a computer opponent at five levels to practise against at their own pace, and puzzles full of checks, captures and clever ideas, each at easy, medium or hard. Progress comes with them — one account carries their lessons and their current game between the website and the app.

Who it is for

Brolly Chess is made for curious minds aged 7 to 20 — complete beginners who are meeting the board for the first time, and improving players who want regular practice between lessons or classes.

A little play every day: a thoughtful game, something new learned, and the next winning idea found.

Web and Android

Brolly Chess brings its learning experience to the web, so it works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer with nothing to install — open it at chessmastersapp.com. The Android app is in testing on Google Play and will be available to download soon. Invited testers can join the Android test.

Who built it

Brolly Chess is developed by Brolly Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, the software company alongside Brolly Juniors.

🧑‍🏫 An app is practice. A teacher is feedback.

Worth saying plainly: a computer opponent is endlessly patient and very good for practice, but it cannot sit beside a child, ask why they chose a move, and talk them through the game afterwards. That conversation is where most chess improvement actually happens. If you are in Hyderabad and want it, our chess batches play coached games every session and finish the term with an internal tournament.
